Davidetta pursues a master’s degree

In September, Davidetta informed us that she received official acceptance to the University of Ghana School of Graduate Studies in Accra, where she will pursue a master’s degree in social work.

Women’s Education Initiative funded Davietta’s undergraduate work at Stella Maris Polytechnic University in Monrovia, Liberia.

She has support for her tuition, and she will stay with family and friends while in Accra.

Davidetta asked for our support in procuring a Mac computer and a printer, which she will need for her studies. When she first made the request in November, she had been given a price of USD $1,300 for the computer and printer. When she arrived in Ghana in late December to begin her studies in January 2022, she discovered the price had increased. She now requires $1,650 for the same computer and printer.

I know we have all weathered the challenges of price increases during these pandemic times. The board is evaluating her request for the additional funds. We had approved the USD $1,300 in support during our Dec. 12, 2021 board meeting.

Please consider an end-of-the-year donation to support Women’s Education Initiative and Davidetta and our scholars. Every donation makes a world of difference in a young woman’s life and her pursuit of an education and her dreams.

Thank you. We wish you a blessed new year and vibrant health in 2022.
